Welcome, Friends!

Big news. I’ve officially retired from teaching writing to kids, but fun reading and writing adventures for women are just around the corner.

As you might guess, after wearing my teacher hat for more than thirty years, I’m in a bit of a transition—plus I’m also a newly minted empty nester—but I know I’m called to gather women around my dining room table to read, write, and connect. That’s because I know down to my bones that life is better when we share our stories. Let’s add light to the world and do it together.

Stay tuned as I figure it out and invite you to be part of the illuminating fun! In the meantime, here are a few of the ways we can read and write together.

Always writing,

THE ONCE-IN-A-WHILE bOOK CLUB

The Once-in-a-While Book Club is books with benefits for book lovers who can’t commit to monthly meetings (I crack myself up). It’s an afternoon of bookish conversation that happens around my dining room table once-in-a-while. Read the book. Show up comfy and casual. I’ll do the rest. Our next meeting is in April.

THE LADIES’ TABLE

My signature course is morphing from Family of Writers to The Ladies’ Table.

For decades, many of you have written with me and your children at THE Kids’ Table, but now it’s our turn to gather with women across generations and experiences as we share our stories in voices that don’t always have to be appropriate for third-fifth graders. It’s time to let loose and give our words permission to fly across the page. Offical details coming in March, but expect this event to be a summer delight in June, July, and August.

MINI WRITING & ART RETREAT

Small afternoon retreat. Massive creative delights. Sheri and I can’t wait to gather eight women around our dining room tables for a few hours of writing and art! No writing experience required! We celebrate all that is good about your bold and beautiful words and artistic creations. Expect this to happen in September.

THE POETRY PIE WRITING CHALLENGE

The fourth annual Poetry Pie Writing Challenge is happens this September! We celebrate the illuminating power of living attentive lives by writing haiku. Everything is hosted on my Substack, Power Lines. Subscribe to get in on the fun!
